Our Phragmites removal party yesterday was a heaping success. On behalf of the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority and ourselves we like to thank the 21 members and volunteers who came out and helped as well as Enbridge Gas for their financially supporting this endeavour. 4 canoes headed into the Peer’s Wetlands to remove this invasive species from the waterways. Encouraged by the success of last years work as well as the work last month we were able to make a larger dent. It was hard work but also lots of laughs to be had. I am sure that the birds and the fish as well as nature in general are happy for what you all accomplished. A Big hand of applause to you all.
