📢 Exciting News! 🌳🌱 The Sydenham Field Naturalists (SFN) have been awarded a generous $10,000 grant from the Chatham-Kent Community Foundation! 🎉🙌 This grant will enable us to establish densely planted native forests in municipal parks using the innovative Miyawaki-style planting technique. 🌿🌳

These native forests may be small in size, approximately 200 sq m each, but their impact will be enormous in enhancing biodiversity and preserving our natural heritage! 🌍💚 President Mike Smith and the SFN team extend our deepest gratitude to the Chatham-Kent Community Foundation for their belief in our vision.

This grant empowers us to create thriving, resilient forests within our municipal parks. We invite YOU to join us on this exciting journey! Together, we can make a significant difference in our community’s green spaces and create a healthier environment for all.

🌱🌳 Stay tuned for updates on this project as we collaborate with local schools, community organizations, and volunteers. We need YOUR help to make this initiative a success! Visit our website at www.sydenhamfieldnaturalists.ca to learn more about how you can get involved.

Let’s come together and cultivate native forests that will nurture wildlife, improve air quality, and bring joy to our community! 🌿🌳 #SFN #GrantReceived #NativeForests #MiyawakiPlanting #Biodiversity
