2015-2016 Program

Our new schedule for the Indoor and Outdoor Program for our 2015 - 2016 season has been released. We have some wonderful ideas for speakers and adventures that should appeal to a wide range of nature lovers - armchair to climbers. Hope to see everyone soon at one of our outings.

Meet at 1pm just south of Tulloch Line and west of Kimball Road on Duthill Road north of Wallaceburg. Witness the splendour of spring. See trout lilies, cut leaf toothwort, dwarf ginseng, harbinger-of-spring, Jack-in-the pulpit, trilliums, and the rare false mermaid.

Backus Woods in the Spring

Meet 8 am at the Beer Store parking lot near Walmart in Wallaceburg. Backus Woods is some of the best remaining “Old Growth Forest” in Southern Ontario, located in the Long Point area and home to a magnificent stand of tulip trees. In the spring, bright yellow-green leaves light up the canopy.  See American Chestnuts and Carolinian species. Pack a lunch.
